Investors can qualify either by renting property from €169,000 or purchasing real estate from €474,000. These amounts already include the required administrative and government fees, as well as a donation to a non-profit organisation.

Investment Options for Malta Residency
To obtain permanent residency in Malta through investment, applicants must make a contribution to the national fund, donate to a registered non-governmental organization, and either rent a property for five years or purchase their own home. In addition, investors must demonstrate assets of €500,000 (of which at least €150,000 must be in financial assets) or €650,000 (of which at least €75,000 must be in financial assets). After five years, residents have the option to buy or rent a property at a lower cost than the program’s initial threshold. After 5 years, the applicant(s) may buy or rent a property at a lower price

- The applicant must rent a property with a minimum annual cost of €14,000 for at least 5 years (total rental amount — €70,000+).
- In addition, the investment includes a non-refundable administrative fee of €60,000, a government contribution of €37,000 for the main applicant and €7,500 per each dependent and a €2,000 donation to a non-profit organisation.

- The applicant must purchase real estate worth at least €375,000.
- Additionally, the investment includes: a non-refundable administrative fee of €60,000, a government fee for the main applicant of €37,000 and €7,500 per each dependent, and a contribution of €2,000 to a non-profit organisation.

How to Get Malta Residency
Malta Resident Status in 5 Easy Steps
Astons simplifies the process of obtaining Maltese residency by guiding investors through each stage of the application.

Document Collection and Preparation

Application Submission
We submit the application through a licensed local program agent (License No. RES-IMMV) to the government-appointed Residency Malta Agency. Processing typically takes as little as 9 months.
Once the application is formally approved, the investor must pay the government fees, make the charitable donation, and secure health insurance.
Completion of Investments
After final approval, you must complete the remaining investment: either purchase or rent qualifying real estate, and pay the outstanding portion of the government contribution.
Obtaining Permanent Residency
All applicants (except children under 6) must travel to Malta in person to submit their biometric data. You will receive a permanent residence permit with lifetime validity, however the residency card must be renewed every 5 years.
